Matt Tomlin
Step 9 - Step 5
22 March 2025
Matt began his journey with DSC in September 2024, and since then, he has shown remarkable dedication and commitment to his training. Attending weekly sessions, he worked tirelessly to regain his confidence and hone his skills on the football pitch. In just six months, his hard work has paid off, as he progressed from step 9 football to an impressive step 5. This achievement is not only a reflection of his determination but also a testament to the supportive environment at DSC.
It’s a joyous occasion to celebrate Matt's transformation. His progress is a fantastic reminder of what can be accomplished with perseverance and the right guidance. As he continues to improve, there’s no doubt that even greater milestones await him in the future. Let’s raise a cheer for Matt and his inspiring journey!

What did Matt have to say after his Stowmarket Debut?
"None of it would have been possible without DSC. The training is one element of it, however a big thing for me is the belief that Liam and the team have in me. My confidence has grown so much, and that is all down to DSC."
"My shot stopping and decision making have improved so much since I’ve been working with DSC that it’s actually off the scale! My shot stopping had gotten so much better, I now believe I can save the shot and for me that is just as important as actually saving it! We’ve worked on getting off my line quicker and being confident to make a challenge, this massively helped on Saturday when I had to make big saves early in."
"Before I started training with DSC I really considered quitting football, however Liam has motivated me to keep going and to push myself even further. If it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t be in the position I am in now. It’s cliche, however it is honestly so true, my three words would be ‘never give up’."
"It feels amazing to be a semi-pro footballer. For years I wasn’t playing at the level I wanted to and now finally I am. It was one of the best days of my life, having the crowd cheer me on and all of my family there to see a great game and performance as well."
